Sponsored by the Whitney Humanities Center, the YOST-affiliated Opera Studies Working Group held its first monthly meeting on September 19, 2019.
The working group offers an informal opportunity to discuss recent points of interest around opera today (and musical multimedia more broadly) with anyone interested from across campus and beyond. In particular, it seeks to foster conversations between scholars and practitioners. We will focus on recent work on (and in) opera and discuss new works and productions, but also provide a forum to think through the contemporary relevance and experience of opera more broadly.
